The New Year is upon us, and predictions about outsourcing business trends for 2008 are in. The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) says that socially responsible outsourcing, global competition for talented employees, and a power shift among outsourcing players will be among the key trends in the coming year. Here are the top 5 outsourcing developments forecasted by IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett and Managing Director of Thought Leadership Jagdish Dalal:
1) Socially Responsible Outsourcing will be taken into account when contracts bids are considered
2) Outsourcing Professionals will be in higher demand
3) Global Talent Wars will continue as the gap between expected cost baseline and cost of talent management widen
4) Dominant Outsourcing Players like IBM, EDS, CSC, and Accenture are expected to loose ground while companies like TCS, Infosys and Wipro should thrive
5) The race is on for globalization - businesses work to build their global talent portfolio. The best will have their basics in place by the end of 2008. What was until just recently a new strategy for companies to offer competitive differentiation - is now required of all. Any company not already well into the outsourcing game is at serious risk in today’s economy.
