I have come across some really exciting, free remote access software lately, but I feel I need to qualify that statement. First: it takes a lot for software to move me in any way. Second: By nature, the words "free remote access software" worry me simply because remote access software can open up your computer(s) to so many undesirable possibilities. (Hackers, trojans, etc.) If the software is free, how secure is it? All computers can be hacked, but could a ten year old hack it, or would it take a bit more? Well, no network is truly safe, but as long as you have qualified manpower (meaning network security who monitor you traffic) you should be okay. Right?...
But if a help desk manager is able to get the funding for qualified security manpower, then why would you need free remote access software?

CrossLoop is a very unique type of remote access software. The product is still Beta, but I must say that I am impressed with the idea behind this product. You could almost put this in a category of its own. This tool could be quite handy for techs to freelance their expertise across the net to anyone needing assistance. This tools actually allows you to network with others by allowing you to build a profile where you can highlight your skills, and users can find you. The Video Demo is a must see for anyone interested.

How is it funded? The product is beta, but in the future they will add premium features that they will charge for.
