
Unemployment always goes up this time of year. Last week in Australia the unemployment rate rose to 4.3 - the lowest rate in 21 years. The average by state in the US was already 4.3% in August 2007. Information technology jobs are getting hit especially hard these days, and one company near me recently notified one hundred of their IT people to tell them that their jobs would soon be eliminated. My heart goes out to them.
One way that I deal with stress is to laugh. Unemployment is not funny, but laughter lets off steam, and I think Career Builders has done a great job helping people laugh about changing jobs.
