The first and only time I was challenged with learning how to make a telephony system work, I felt like Super man after being exposed to kryptonite. I can normally sit down and work out nearly anything if I have the time. I have to admit that the hardware for the telephone system was pulled out of a dumpster. The person responsible for finding this treasure from trash did higher someone to get the system working, but after that, he asked if I could maintain it. "Sure, I'll figure it out!" I said.![]()
I was able to figure out all the basic stuff, but I could not locate a manual for the version I was using. The version we had was too old. Never-the-less, the system seemed to have some advanced features, so I tried to set those up. For some reason, I could not get them to turn on. At last, I consulted an expert - the same expert who set the system up. His answer to most of my questions was simply, "That feature doesn't really work, even though it is listed in the system menu."
So for anyone out there who is like me and prefers not to be bothered with telephony, this may be the solution for you. BlueNote Networks has come out with a product called SessionSuite Enterprise that comes out of the box with all of the basic features. This telephony system even includes the option to add video, and video is the way of the future, let's face it.
Popular Voice Calling Features are pre-set and include everything you would expect like auto-attendant, multi-party conference bridge facility, and call recording capabilities.
Integration with Legacy Voice Infrastructure Bridges VoIP networks and traditional PSTN/PBX infrastructures, allowing VoIP users to place and receive calls with legacy PBX users or users of the PSTN. Works with standards-based third-party analog and digital line adapters, and supports a variety of interfaces including T1 CAS, ISDN PRI, and analog FXS/FXO. Previous investments in PBX and telephony gear are compatible and maintaining communications with the public telephone infrastructure.
Integral NAT and Firewall Boundary Traversal
A Fault Tolerant System is designed to automatically detect problems and restart software modules in case of failure.
IT Infrastructure Integration integrates directly with IT AAA systems and Directory Services. Allows voice services and users to be treated and managed in a manner similar to other IT applications, eliminating user and service provisioning & enabling IT staff to manage voice services.
Web-based Service Selection allows users to manage their SessionSuite services and features using a standard Web browser.
