A Russian company, Famatech, has launched a new Advanced IP Scanner and Advanced Port Scanner worldwide. This is an enhancement of the service provided by Radmin 3.0. The new freeware solutions can check network status or remote devices in a few seconds, helping to maintain, troubleshoot, and inspect networks of any size. Here are the features I found interesting.
- Multithreaded Network Scanner ![]()
Multithreaded technology enables the Advanced IP Scanner to scan hundreds of computers at once at maximum scan speed, even over slow modem connections.
- Fully configurable scan speed and quality
The number of threads, scan timeout, and retries can be configured by the end user to produce the best computer performance.
- Ability to save, load, and export scan results
Scan results can be saved in ‘tab delimited format’ for use in other programs such as Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet software.
- Ability to retrieve computer network information
Network information, including NetBIOS names and MAC address, can be retrieved automatically during a scan or manually for selected computers.
Advanced IP Scanner can switch off, put to sleep, and wake single or multiple computers.
- Launch common tasks for found computers
Each scanned computer can be connected via ‘Explorer’, Telnet or HTTP from its context menu, speeding up and easing network maintenance tasks.
- Connection to a remote computer when Radmin is installed
Advanced IP Scanner automatically connects to any scanned computer via the Radmin server. Different connection modes are also supported.
- Re-scan lists of computers
Saves, edits, and automatically loads lists of computers to scan - enabling users rapidly to organize and repeat scans and customize appearance and comments.
