The month of October has brought me so much material on Disaster Recovery, that I decided to bring you a composite of the latest talk, products, and services so that those of you looking don't miss anything.
Syncsort has been in business since 1971, and they released the newest version of Backup Express in late September. Backup Express offers data protection, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities. Features include:
* ExpressDR: Server imaging recovery in minutes, including operating system, settings, and application software - without special disaster recovery backups.
* Instant Availability (IA): Rapid read/write access to SQL Server, Exchange, and Oracle - including mailboxes and tables - at any recovery point. And IA can clone an Oracle database, of any size, in minutes.
* Express Recovery Server (XRS): Fast recovery and application access from virtual volume images stored on almost any kind of disk storage, including NetApp, EMC, HP, Data Domain, and even low-cost generic storage. XRS enables businesses to leverage existing disk infrastructure and investments.
I did not find any reviews on this product, but feel free to post comments if you have used it.
