
The survey measured the percentage salary change across seven job categories, including Senior Support Executive, Department Manager, Analyst or Project Manager, Senior Support Technician, Field Support Technician, Support Technician and Customer Service Rep. Among these, the highest gain was for Senior Support Executive, at 12%, while the lowest was for Support Technician, at 5%.
While salaries are certainly an important factor in attracting and retaining top talent, there are other important factors that should not be overlooked. Assuming you are keeping pace with the industry in terms of pay scale, these other factors will be the differentiator for the support reps you want to attract.
Organizational and team culture, level of responsibility given to your staff and how interesting your projects, services or products are all play a roll in making your organization more or less attractive.
That said, salary levels remain an important yardstick of the health of an industry. The fact that support salaries are on the rise can only help to drive additional talent your way.
